Reviews
Ground floor single room, quite basic but spotless and a very comfortable bed. At night a corridor fire door separates the rooms from the bar and reception, so there is minimal noise. Breakfast to a good standard, all the staff were attentive and professional. The lunch and evening meals options aren't cheap, but are consistent with local pub and restaurant prices. Excellent location for people and ship watching.
A very beautiful hotel, with a nice view. The restaurant is very nice and serves a nice variety of dishes. The bar is well stocked. All staff were very welcoming and the rooms are also very nice and very clean and comfortable. I was there for business, but would love an opportunity to visit Maassluis for a leisure trip in the future.
I can't comment on the rooms as we only visited the restaurant. But the hotel looks fantastic, its in a truly breathtakingly beautiful location. The staff are friendly efficient and very well trained, the food was amazing and the portions generous. I didn't pick up the bill, it can't have been small, but if you can afford it I recommend you eat there at least once you won't regret it.
The Hotel is near the port and not far away from the city. It is a quiet location perfect to relax. The service was fantastic and the rooms are convenient. We had the family suit for 4 people and we had enough space. From the terrace you see the river. The parking spot and the wifi is free and the breakfast was good.
The hotel is generally nice and we had pleasant staff during our visit. It's not too far from town, so you can have a pleasant walk in to visit shops or other food establishments.
Rooms: Small, but well done. The bed was comfortable and there was a desk. It would be nice to have some seating available so you had someplace to be when in the room, other than the bed (there was 1 chair).
The most convenient window was locked shut, so unable to open. The window that could open, opened up from bottom and then rocketed out of your hand as it flung open. I had to stand on the chair, onto the desk, lean out of the window just to grab the handle in order to shut it again.
Restaurant: Lunch and dinner were delicious, but the amount of food you receive for the cost is exorbitant. A bowl of soup I believe was €10, in which they brought an empty bowl and poured the soup in from a small pitcher. Nicely presented, but you received half a bowl of soup...
Breakfast on the other hand was horrible. Everything was over-salted, especially the eggs. The fruit was not ripe, and pieces that should not be crunchy, were. Such a huge difference in quality from their 'restaurant' services.
Conclusion: Had a pleasant stay
No proper mattresses, just mattress pads. We arrived at 10pm to a closed kitchen at the restaurant with no options available nearby :( the food looked amazing though
Very nice room, lovely bath, fairly nice balcony (with partial view of the river and the hotels parking below), comfy beds. I am picky so didn't agree with pillows but that's my personal issue that I experience in almost every hotel.
We had the family room and ordered breakfast in room for 2, it was more than enough for the 2 grown ups and 2 kids.
Service staff were very friendly and assisted with all my requests, 5* there really!
The only negative was that there was some company event in the evening that carried on into the night : from around 11pm till some time after midnight there was very loud music and drunken Dutch singing. I know hotel probably couldn't have prevented it fully, but maybe either inform us before hand or give a discount because we all had really bad sleep due to this noise (and kids wake up early regardless of late night, just more grumpy) . Considering the price, and short/disrupted night I'm not decided yet on whether this is a repeatable experience that I would recommend to others. Do these events happen regularly?
P.s. dear hotel staff, if you are interested in seeing us back, please let me know about your refund/discount options and if there are any rooms away from the party-areas.
Beautiful hotel. It is nice to be right on the water. View of the canal is very nice. Heel gezellig!
The service is ok...
The restaurant is really good! Very nice staff.
